Costa Rica

We have made it through half of our trip. I am at an
internet cafe with my mom, who is sending email to
Adrian, so I figured I would post a post on the blog.
This is a Spanish keyboard and I cannot figure out how
to make apostrophes so there wont be any in this post.

We have had a very relaxing time. Martins house is on
the beach and we spend a lot of time just watching the
waves come in. The first day we say humpback whales
diving in and out of the ocean like dolphins. We also
saw monkeys at the house while we were unpacking the
car, and have seen them most days since. There is a
tiny baby that jumps around by itself every now and
again. We have been snorkling and seen morey eels,
pufferfish, and lots of colorful fish. We have surfed,
and walked on the beach, and collected shells. Weve
tried most of the restaurants in town and have been
ranking them based on how good we think the arroz con
camarones is. Weve looked at all the land for sale and
understand why people are trying so hard to live here.

We have 2 full days left and then back to reality,
desert, and dry. Yup, we are definately in a hot humid
rainforest!!

Cookies revisited

Two things:
1. I figured out how to put a blog onto my.yahoo.com so that you can see if someone has updated. The only thing is they have to have the "site feed" preference turned on.... so comeon... turn it on!! and put the post on your site for the URL so that I can link to it!

2. The cookies are baked!! We started at 8:30am, Beth and I did the groceries, and then Elliott and Kathryn arrived, and we baked until about 2pm. It took a while to prep the boxes etc. Whew! What a lot of cookies!!

Blog updates

OK - this Blog thing is frustrating me because I can't "subscribe" to people's blogs and be notified when they are updated!!

I don't have time to keep checking all of these websites everyday!!!

What with all the other websites I have to check, its just annoying!

Why have these Blogger people not put in this function?? Or is this something that you have to do using that AdSense or WebLogs???

I WISH someone would see my blog and respond to me on this one!!!!
pleeeze pleeeze pleeeze!!

Greg Running Tucson Full

Here he comes...

...There he goes

whew!

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while.... Here's the sort version:
meetings and meetings on Mon, Tues, and Wed
6:40 am flight to Pittsburg; had lunch with Chris from the Pittsburgh office, went to room and worked, had dinner at the hotel.
Thurs, Mary Anne from Pittsburg picked me up and took me to the office; We had the Baker meeting in the morning, and then in the afternoon the US-VISIT and Baker executives joined us; I left at 4:45 with Julie (from Washington); went back to my hotel, changed, went to her parent's house, she changed, we went to another hotel, met up with the other Baker people, and drove to a party at Dave's house. The party was GREAT. I have never had such good catered food!! Beef tenderloin on the BBQ, shimp skewered with scallops, incredible crab cakes!! AMAZING. Finally left around midnight, I didn't even know it was that late until we got in the car. Then got back to my hotel at 1AM.
woke up at 5am to catch flight back to Phoenix.
Got home around 11am, unpacked, packed, hit the road for Tucson at 1pm - I was BEAT!!
Got Greg's race packet at expo, checked into Omni resort... went to dinner at a Texas steak place, to bed and crashed around 8pm
Up at 5am, dropped Greg off at the shuttle to the start of the marathon;
went back to hotel and slept for another 2 hours.
Went to mile 13 - half way... and started the "support" thing: cheering, driving, cheering, handing out Gu, gatorade, picking up hats, and water bottles......
Greg finished in 3:40ish, which is about 10 mins too much to qualify for Boston, his calves started cramping at about 10 miles in; and in the last 5 miles, I think he lost a whole 5 mins - oh well, next time. Thanks to Meg at home with the computer and calculator, she was able to help me find him since he was off pace.
We drove up the course to find his Camelbak, no luck; Camelbak number 2 offered to the race Gods.
Back to hotel, checked out, drove home, and now here we rae 3:20pm.
still to do laundry, groceries, unpacking, chilling, and prep for work tomorrow.

So, that's the latest for this weekend.

The middle of the weekend

Two days gone, 1.75 to go of the 4-day weekend. I wish time didn't go so fast. It's very frustrating. I always feel like I need another day. Yesterday was very annoying because the housecleaner showed at 8:30 - waking us up, yes, we were still asleep. Then proceded to take FIVE hours to clean our house. I would not care, IF I WAS AT WORK! but this was supposed to be a day off, lazing around, not getting dressed etc. Instead, we had to find reasons to not be here, 'cause it was just too annoying to be inside! So we went to the nursery and spent nearly $100 on plants. Now I have to plant them! I got the easy ones done yesterday.... pots on the patio etc. But the tough stuff, in the back where I first have to remove gravel and get the drip to work, are still sitting there. I'm going to have to make time to plant them soon, or $50 will be dead! However, today is a sailing day, so tomorrow it is... not the way I wanted to spend the day before work... I usually like to see how much TV I can watch on those days! Well, off to pack snacks for a day on the lake watching speed boats zoom past the stationary windless sailboat! That's "sailing" in AZ.

I'm Trying

Well, I guess I'm not that good at this. I'm just not sure what to add. I guess I've never been a good "journal" keeper either. I was thinking that I could write about the trips I go on for work so that people can know where I am, or where I've been when I don't answer my phone or email. I don't travel as much as other people I know, but I think that my friends can't keep track of me.

Oven Repair

Right now I'm at home waiting for the oven repair guy to come and fix the oven. Why is it that they never arrive when they say they will? "you'll be the first call of the day" they told me. What time is that, I asked, "8am; they always call 20 minutes before they arrive". Well, its 8am, and there has been no 20 min call! If I'm the first call, then the guy is late to work! Does this mean I'm waiting for my 20 min notice, or am I waiting for the guy to just show?

Just got the call. 8:09 telling me that the technician just walked out the door. Well, it seems to me, that this guy is running 30 minutes late!

8:30 - He's HERE!!! Now let's see how long the repair takes...
