Garden in mid-June
There are a lot of flowers that seem to be coming out right now.
Some usually bloom earlier in the year, others around about now...

My favorite combination - all accidental.
Russian sage, coreopsis, and this queen anne's lace.

I think I need to wear glasses when using my iPhone camera, 'cause I keep focusing on the wrong thing! I swear the square was on this Clematis!

I tried harder the next day:

Herbs! in the Ground!
While my mom was here, we dug up a corner of the lawn and created a "kitchen garden"... you know, herbs.

My goal was to plant perennials that would keep the roots of the clematis cool, so there is a rosemary on the sunny side of the lamp.
Thyme and Oregano line the edge, and the inside is for annuals - basil and parsley this year.
I want to put rocks/boulders around the edge on the grass side... but that's a bit of drama.
My favorite neighbor offered that I could use all the rocks that she had piled up in the woods; then she moved away... I didn't think to move the rocks to our "side" of the woods... I asked the daughter of the new neighbor if I could take the rocks. She said she'd "ask her mom if that's ok"... 3 days later, I'm still waiting.
CLEARLY, I'm ready for the rocks!
argh... neighbors.

Ideas from the Botanical Garden
I went with my mom to the Botanical Gardens, and these are the plants I found interesting and worth considering for my little plot of land.

Capturing late May in the Garden
Front bed with lavender blooming.

Clematis going up the support

Day lillies about to bloom, and I think there is an echinacea in there too.

I don't know where this dianthus (?) came from! the rose is looking great! and yellow irises. The burgandy ones have not bloomed yet.

Window bed staying strong.

The pink foxglove I planted a couple weeks ago to replace one I planted late season last year that didn't come back.

Spent azalea, and I'm hoping the long stalks are Queen Anne's lace.

Sedum in front, and the hibiscus starting to grow in the back. Next year I need to cut the stalk down further.

Closeup.

Flower pots are looking amazing this year.

The birds like to nest in this hanging pot...
Here is someone tending the nest, or tending the someone in the nest.
